TRANSCRIPTION:

Dr Steven Feldman: Hi, I'm Dr. Steve Feldman, professor of dermatology, pathology, and social sciences and health policy here at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. And I'm one of the presenters in the Digging Deeper Medication Adherence Program. Now, this is one of the most important topics for getting patients well. In this session, we'll cover how poorly patients take their medication and why they don't take their medication well. And I hope to convince you that it is largely our fault. As a Vietnamese philosopher once said, "If the lettuce isn't growing well, you don't blame the lettuce. You take personal responsibility for doing what needs to be done." In this session, we're going to cover many practical things you can do to get patients to take their medication better. This session should be entertaining, informative, and practical. I think you'll be able to incorporate some of these ideas into your practice right away. I hope you'll join us.
