TRANSCRIPT:
My name is Scott Strong. I'm a professor of surgery and a colorectal surgeon at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago. I am participating in this AIBD meeting as a colorectal surgeon. I'll be speaking about the perioperative management of patients with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis.
They're faced with the notion of having an operation and what we can do during that perioperative period to best prepare them and assure the best outcomes for those individuals undergoing surgery for their inflammatory bowel disease.
I'm looking forward to this venue to see how well it works and how we can best interact with you, the audience, and other speakers as we discuss these various topics.
